Micah’s Story
Seven years of declining health as a direct effect of 9/11, while under the care of twenty top New York physicians, peaked in the silence of the night with my seizure. As the tension of my arching back subsided, with a smirky and knowing expression, I mouthed the words, “that was not good”. By morning I had developed a diminished capacity for language and short-term memory. As a Ph.D. candidate, specializing in the philosophy of Immanuel Kant and biology, the floor to ceiling stacks of books merely taunted me. Six weeks passed before I could write out a post card. In the midst of my demise, I was riddled with debilitating muscle and bone pain, ataxia interrupting my gait, blue veins pronounced in my face and hands, my feet turning purple from an inner chill even in the heat of summer. As it turns out, the fun and games of my years of ill health, marking my body permanently, were entirely unnecessary. Perhaps my story, coupled with my rigorous philosophical and scientific investigations, shall redeem this evitable journey.

PERSONAL MOTTO
“Interferon Gamma Are My friends”
applying philosophy to medical science, excerpt from Wellness In a Toxic Age
Immanuel Kant, 18th C. German philosopher, in a letter to a friend, comments on the flu epidemic of 1790 that cleared up by itself,
. . . .doctors are “better able to describe the illnesses than to
discover their origin or cure. How fortunate are the sick when
the doctor’s only prescription is dietary.”
Keep in mind that this is before the flu vaccination made the scene, that even then the body was doing the healing. It may be that much of today’s pill and vaccination cures only appear to fix what nature is repairing. In fact, Western medicine often charges alternative medical practices with negligence by using a similar line of thinking, i.e., that their herbs are doing nothing, that the body is doing the healing -- unwittingly undermining their own practice.
My research targets the unknowns in medical science, both Western and alternative, that are often presumed to be facts and cures. I present a new framework for thinking about symptoms of illness, disease, healthy and unhealthy biological mechanisms and more. Applying this framework to already existing scientific data, from clinical trials to nutrient measurements, led me to new conclusions, necessitating a fresh look at treatment.
research & findings
By applying philosophy to medical science, sifting through the conflicting claims about diet, vitamin, mineral and herbal supplements, Western pill cures and Eastern homeopathic remedies, alternative practices & co., I developed a wellness plan that allowed the wisdom of my body to tend to the healing.
